News: Our recent documentary ’35 Years of GCN’ — which examines LGBTQ+ social history in Ireland through the story of GCN (Gay Community News) magazine — has been shortlisted in the Best Documentary category for the 2024 IMRO national Radio Awards.
About: Making audio content (as Shaun & Maurice) is an ongoing side-project for artist/creative Maurice Kelliher and science communicator Shaun O’Boyle. They create and produce podcast series, commissioned content, and full-length radio documentaries — for national/overseas radio broadcast, online streaming, festivals, exhibitions, and special events — including:
BBC Radio 4, Documentaries on Newstalk, Science Gallery Dublin, University College Dublin, Irish Design 2015, LGBT History Month UK, Dunsink Observatory, Inspirefest, Science Gallery International, the Marriage Equality campaign; Trinity College Dublin, Science Foundation Ireland, Bright Club, BBC World Service, IDA Ireland, Silicon Republic/Future Human, and the European Horizon 2020 project/PERITIA.
In 2017, they were shortlisted to the final 10 (from hundreds of worldwide entries) for the Alan Whicker Audio Recognition Award, for their documentary about the lives of Irish LGBTQ+ Travellers — Prejudice and Pride.
